SARAJEVO: PART II


Part II

My baby boy's birthday was on the 1.8. so we celebrated with star wars muffins, 
presents and a hike to bijela tabija at night. We had pizza, bier and cookies! 

 Oh and we also watched wolverine on the 31.7. at 12 o'clock...
the boys were disappointed. 

You should definitely go up to bijela tabija if you visit Sarajevo!
 It has the most beautiful view of the city. You shouldn't be too afraid of heights though it's pretty scary and dark.
 I was making up horror story plots all the way up the hill.

SARAJEVO: PART I


PART I


The perfect song for the past month.





We've been a bit preoccupied with relaxing for the last couple of weeks...
sorry for being so absent..
but here are some photos of our first day in Sarajevo!
I will be oversharing and posting way too many photos..
but I just couldn't decide what to post!


The boys arrived early in the morning and we went and had breakfast at my grandmas house. She made uštipke! So tasty!

We Baked It Ourselves with LOVE!! raspberry fruit roulade



My baby-girl came over and we baked!!


The baby-girls and my baby boy, on our way to the Junip concert! fun times!

This is what we made! A wonderfully delicious raspberry roulade!! A perfect summer treat!!


Ingredients!

3 eggs
85g powdered sugar
85g plain flour, sifted
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract

I just put everything in a bowl and turned the mixer on. Probably not the right approach! But it worked perfectly. It was wonderfully fluffy and delicious!
You could also do it the proper way and beat the eggs and sugar first and then add the rest! Either way! JUST DO IT!

Then it's time for the oven!! about 180°C for 12 min!
As soon as you take it out of the oven roll it up with the baking paper so it looks like a roll and leave it to cool a little!
Now open it up carefully and top it with your tasty fruity cream! Roll it up again! and it's done!
yeah!


for the cream:

250 ml double cream
100ml quark cheese
tsp vanilla suger
fresh raspberries

Beat the cream add quark and the raspberries!
Thats all there is to it!
You could also just use quark cheese with a little vanilla sugar to make it a bit healthier! Or you could just say fuck it...and eat the double cream!!

Peru Part 1





















So, I spent one month traveling Peru with my lovely friend Eva. I had the most amazing time and can't even describe how happy I was. Peru is an amazing country with so much to give. Only while traveling this country you can be in the jungle, the desert, the beach, the mountains.
I started my trip in Lima and took a nightbus the same night to meet up with Eva in a beautiful city called Arequipa. The bus ride was 16 hours and you can imagine how it is to be in the mountains and see the street ending right next to you (going down 300 meters or so).
From Arequipa we took a 2 day trip to the Colca Canon (it's supposed to be bigger than the Grand Canon). It was breathtaking.. and i'm not just saying that. The landscape in Peru really took my breath on many occasions.
The next city was Cusco, a 10 hour nightbus ride away from Arequipa. Cusco is deep in the Andes and a cute city.. which was kind of spoiled because of little incident that happened to us.
After Cusco we went to one of my favorite places: Urubamba. We stayed there for a couple of days. We visited an Organization, hiked around in the mountains, spent some time in the salt terraces (I hoped that's how they are called in english) and just spent time in this very charming village.
Our next stop was Ollantaytambo.. from there we wanted to visit the old Inca City Machu Picchu. Instead of taking the completely ridiculous tourist train and spent a bunch of money.. we walked... with 2 great girls that we met and travelled with for the next week. We walked 35 kilometers along the train tracks. The landscape was the best part about this entire thing. Along a river through the Andes and the jungle. Beautiful plants, animals and everything else beautiful you could imagine... It was scary at times, we walked along the train tracks, so once in a while a tunnel came and we had to make sure that no train was coming while we walked through.
Machu Picchu was really interesting to see, but for my taste it was too touristic and expensive. I enjoyed the trip there more than the actual thing. So to everyone that is planing to go visit Machu Picchu... WALK!




This was the first half of the trip.. more to come!
I have a lot going on right now.. university started, I moved into a new (AWESOME) apartment and I need to get all my things straightened out.

We baked it ourselves with love - Brownie-Strawberry-Cake

BROWNIE-STRAWBERRY-CAKE

BROWNIE BASE: 
1/2 cup oil
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
dark chocolate

& STRAWBERRYS

Preheat oven to 175 degrees. Grease a baking pan.
Heat 100g dark chocolate in a waterbath.
Mix together the oil, brown sugar, vanilla and eggs.
Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
Stir into the mixture until well blended.
At last stir in the dark chocolate and spread everything into the prepared pan.


After 20 to 25 minutes, put the cake out of the oven.
Let cool it cool on a wire rack.

Now wash and cut the strawberries into small pieces (up to you).
take a fork and prick into the cake a view times.
Then put a very little wine or juice over the cake. That makes the whole thing sappy!


Strawberrys on the cake and some chocolate or nuts to decorate it.

1/2 cup apple pureé, instead of eggs
and vegan dark chocolate
