Make Your Own Candle!!

These are probably the worst photos you'll see on here but I only had my phone and was really in the mood for making candles!
It was just one of those days...when everything is more important than actually doing what you're supposed to!! stupid exams!!

Anyway!
This DIY probably isn't new to you but I thought I'll share it trotzdem (a german word you just have to know..i love it)!
First you start off by going to your favourite thrift store and buying all sorts of wonderful cups!
Or basically anything you think would look much better with wax in it!

I collect pretty plates and cups and wonderful glasses with little sayings on them..
but I just don't get to use them as often as I would like to.
Plus what would I drink out of these tiny cups? lots and lots of refills!

I kind of got this rose theme going on in my room so these little beauties caught my eye.
And for 0,20€ each I'm happy they did!
Hani snatched some up as well but she will actually be drinking out of hers.

You'll need:

candle making wax or old used up candles
wicks (or just a thicker string or a thin shoe lace)
fragrance oils
some pens and sticky tape
cups

All in all I paid about 6 euros for 4 candles and I still have lots of everything leftover for one more go!
This is a masterfully done compilation of really bad photos...of the candle making process!

Put your wax in a glass bowl over simmering water and let it melt.
While your wax is melting prepare your cups. Dip the wick into the wax and set aside to dry.
When thats over and done with wrap the top of your wick around a pencil and fixate with sticky tape.
Now place the pencil on your cup and pour in your (hopefully by now) melted wax in.
weeee now you just have to wait for your candles to set.

Waiting over night is probably a good idea!
I sat right next to the candles poking my finger in every few minutes to see if it was done yet.
Don't do that!
Ohh and look this is vulva!!
(not her real name..I just don't like her actual one and this one is similar to hers so she still comes when I call her).
She stayed with us for the weekend..It was so nice having a dog around I tell ya.
I'll probably never be able to wear any of my black clothes ever again because of her hairs sticking to everything but what the heck!
Look at her!! She was pretty excited about the whole process with me.
jumping around wanting to eat everything!

And this is what my finished cup candle looks like!! BEAUTIFUL right?? It's not actually that bright and flamey It's just my phone camera.
Although the flame is in fact a bit bigger than usual.
But still.. I'm so happy with how it turned out!
I'm going to be making candles out of everything now!!
woohoo!

Ohh yeah and I got a new phone...well not new but new to me!! I miss my old blackberry pretty bad
especially since it was so tough and small and everything but
WHY? didn't anybody introduce me to the wonders of an android earlier???
whats wrong with you freakin' people?
And how does anybody get anything done with sooo many apps to test and games to play??
I bought a hamster phone case!! I'm so happy! It's so kitschy but I love it so what the heck!

That's it guys!! Enough chitter chatter
I hope you enjoy making all sorts of wonderful candles for yourself and all your friends!
It's pretty darn cute as a little gift.

AND I HAD TO DEAL WITH REALLY BIG CHANGES.

So this is why i only want to post a small thing.
a place where I love to go when i want to do something good for myself.

Just having a coffee in the morning or just for fun.

Hangover soup!

Yesterday I had a little hangover and what cures a hangover better than a nice hot soup?
I also really felt like doing something and cooking was the only thing I felt capable of doing!

I used:

A bunch of Potatoes
2 Carrots
3 Spring onions
1 Regular onion
2 Cloves of garlic
Butter/Margarin
Milk

So first I cooked the potatoes until they were almost done, then I added the carrots in the same pot.
And after a little while I added the rest. I let it cook until I thought everything was not raw anymore
and poured out almost all the water.
I blended everything together with a bunch of milk and a good bit of margarin.
You can add any kind of seasoning...  I just used salt, pepper and italian seasoning.

Voila! I told you it was easy. Plus it's so creamy, it tastes like I used a bunch of cream, but NOPE!
This soup doesn't have a lot of calories and it's healthy. It sure helped my hangover! Let me tell you!

Day out in Munich!

Not my prettiest photo but I thought it suited the Munich motto!! Although this was in Freising on our way to Munich!
We stopped by because I wanted to return the coat I wore in the previous post because it was becoming fluffy everywhere
I didn't really think it was worth the money! You see... I was really happy when I found a wonderful WARM wintercoat that I actually liked.
Plus it was on sale!
Yeah I always say that..but I just love sale things or old things..they're fun!! so anyways...
I got it like 50% off for 90€ which is a perfectly acceptable price if the garment doesn't fall apart after a week!
I decided to return it! The sales guy gave me two options...either to keep the coat and get 60€ back or to return it and get a full refund!
I kept it!! I just love it!!
And now even the price makes me happy.. I can deal with the fluffy...I'll just shave the fluff away!
That actually works really well!!

Look at my beautiful umbrella (the ducks head) peaking out of my bag!!
I hate rain!! But this little fella just makes everything so much more bearable!!

This is me awkwardly posing for a photo infront of a whole lot of people.
Not feeling it! I love photos somewhere in the woods or in a private garden or something!!
Much more fun and a lot less awkward!

Pretty paper drives me crazy. I can't seem to walk past it without buying anything.
Even if it's just really pretty wrapping paper!

Ohh and look at the shoes people!!
Bally shoes for 2,50€...I still can't believe it!

I had a dream...I found my dream marc by marc jacobs bag in my favourite diakonie...
Maybe I'll get lucky twice! Probably not! but just maybe!
In the mean time..I will be stalking the hobo miller bag on ebay and saving money just in case!

Today was also a pretty fun day!! We walked around uni interviewing people for a seminar.

We are doing this presentation on "Friendships in Emerging Adulthood" next Tuesday and wanted to find out what the students at our uni had to say about it!
It was quite interesting I tell ya!
I'll tell you more about it when it's all edited and finished and the data is analysed (when we watch all the videos and finish our presentation)

Bye Bye

We Baked It Ourselves With LOVE! Birthday cake!

 Hey guys,

this post is actually a bit late. Because as you all know, Andrea's Birthday was last week.
But this is about her nice birthday cake now
and how you can make a simple, very pretty birthday gift for your best friend.

This recipe is called:
ANDREAS RASPBERRY-BLUEBERRY-BUNDT CAKE
you need:
a bundt cake baking-tin (22-24 cm inside diameter)
250g raspberry and blueberry mixed
350g butter
lemon zest from 2 lemons
300g sugar
6 eggs
200g grated almond
480g flour
2 teaspoons baking powder

for decoration:
dark chocolate glaze
white chocolate
raspberry candies

First of all, let me introduce Sophie!
This little girl down here is Paul's niece.
Paul and I were together with Pauls parents and Sophies family in KitzbĂĽhel for christmas.
So she helped me bake Andrea's cake, and she did it very well!

So when you put together all your ingredients let's start with greasing the baking-tin.
put some flour inside so that the cake comes out easily when it's finished.
heat the oven to 180°C.

Put the berrys in a bowl and strew about 2 spoons flour over them.

Now mix up butter, lemon zest, sugar and eggs.
Then stir in almond, flour and baking powder.

No worries, the dough is very thick. but that's how it should be.

When you are finished with that,
take your baking-tin and put alternately some dough, berrys, dough, berrys inside.
end with dough.

Sophie did that very great.
she made sure that every level was totally covered with berrys.

This takes some time but the cake looks so pretty afterwards!

Sophie had the idea to cut the very big raspberrys,
because otherwise we have these big ones inside and it doesn't look equal when it's finished!
she was so patient!

Now put your filled baking-tin, for about 50 minutes, in the oven.
check every now and then if it's done yet.

Let your cake cool down and cut the ground so that it's straight.
melt the dark chocolate and put it over the cake.

then the white chocolate, you see the litte white dot's down there?!
I took a plastic bag, cut a little hole in one corner and put the melted white choc inside.

i found these great raspberry candies covered with white chocolate.
when you cut them they look like little roses.
Then i took the plastic bag again and wrote "Andrea" on the cake.
FINISHED <3

3 Day New Years visit in Vienna!!

We visited Vienna for three days over New Years. Hani was there and Matthias and a friend of his. It was great!!
I admit it was a tad bit silly to go there for three days and well...
coming back to Moosburg for 1 day and then having to go back to Vienna tomorrow!!
I'm sort of glad though! I will have a lot of learning to do for my exams...but after that it's one month of nothing and well sewing!!
And hopefully travels with Hani and Steffi!!

We went on a little shopping trip. But first we met up with the boys in a book store.
Steffi couldn't come because I couldn't call...because I had lost my freakin' phone the day before!
The 3rd time in 2 weeks...and this time it's for real!
An asian guy found it and we didn't understand where he was waiting for us because he didn't speak any language
that we could understand and then the stupid thing went out!!
So it's over! Now i'm rocking my old Nokia music express..Which I actually love!!

dotty skirt & tights: H&M, cape: asos, coat: 2two, scarf: American Apparel

The style motto of the day was obviously dots!
I originally had a red hat when we went out of the house and then noticed that we were kind of being matchy again!
I don't know how that always happens!

So excited!! looking at pattern making books! I found a great one ... pattern magic I...but I had to leave it behind!
First reason being the fact that it cost 10 euros less on amazon and the second being my exams at the end of the month!!
I need to concentrate on my learning at some point!

We discovered the Butt book!!

We played out different scenes out of the Butt Book!!
I was always the left butt and Hani the right one! We had a grand old time!

Hani sure seemed to enjoy her Chai Latte!!
All up in her face!

So that's that! Ohh and this is what we were up to while just being lazy at home!
Watching a whole lot of louis C.K!!

Sooo...suck a bag of dicks people!
love Andrea

Hani & Nani at Munich Airport!!

Hi there!! hope everyone had a lovely New Years!! We sure did!!
We got in the car and off we went to Vienna!! But first Hani had to come to Moosburg where I was visiting my parents.
We had one day at my parents house and because it was Sunday and we wanted to do something (but everything was closed)
we decided to go to the airport to shop around, eat sweet things at the christmas market and just spend time together!!

This is where I used to live in Germany!! Really nice if you like...a whole lot of nothing!
No really...it has it's beauty but I am glad to be in Vienna now!!
It was such a warm day..and this made us oohh so happy!!

Look at all these beautiful fields(sarcasm)!
Actually they are beautiful but still...

At the airport it got a bit cold but hani came prepared in her little red riding hood cape! adorable!!
It was on SALE (our favourite word) from asos and it's the cutest thing ever!

We went to Accessorize..once again!! Soo sad!!
This used to be my store...I worked there for 3 years and Antonia worked there and all of our girls. Now everything is different.
SO not right! But they don't know how to keep the store pretty like we used to!! pff!

Anyway this is us deciding on which undies we wanted to buy.
We ended up buying nothing because it was all still 50% off and ..well...I know it's all going to be 70% 0ff next week!

We're not cheap or anything...it's just that we have so much clothes and it's just fun to look for special things for a special price!
It's fun and makes the things extra special!

Andrea: H&M blazer, thrifted bag; Hannah: ASOS cape

Birthday present from Matthias! I'm guessing fab.com

 Jeans,socks: H&M and shoes thrifted!

Birthday present from Matthias also Fab.com

This is what the Christmas Market at the Munich airport looks like! It's really beautiful!
We had these cinnamon rolls and coffee..and couldn't stop laughing!
We got asked what exactly was in our coffee ... obviously we were kind of weird!
We were just so happy to be together again!!

Bye Bye

love!!  Hani & Nani
